Remember just a few posts ago when I was harping about my first hair dryer that I bought on my last London trip. Here's it in the package, which I've already used a few times.
I just pack it back once it was done cause the package is still too gorgeous to throw away.
Just now, I also recalled buying a nail polish remover the same time I did with this hair dryer.
You know how akin to in-house brands that you see in Singapore, like Watsons-brand household products for different things such as nail poslish remover, cotton pads, etc; that these items sold by these in-house brands always carries a stigma for being of lower quality?
They're usually cheaper than the imported items, and we always have the stereotype that cheap means less quality.
Because of that stereotype too, I had never fancied any in-house brands before. I mean I do use them for certain less important items, but never for my shampoo, soap, etc that are more personal.
Even nail polish removers, I tend to go for more well-known brand like Salley Hansens, which I know would definitely work well. I don't like to try in-house brands for the fear of inferior outcome that may just waste my money and make me disappointed in the end.
When I went to Boots; a local chain of pharmacy store in London; (very much alike to Guardian and Watsons in SG), along with the hair dryer, I also bought some other things. Within these items was a Boots-branded nail polish remover.
I think I bought it because my Salley Hansens was running out, I couldn't be bothered to wait any longer, and that Boots was having a huge sale anyways.
So today was the first day I opened the bottle, and boy was I in for a surprise.
As you can see, it is acetone-free. It's important to always use acetone-free nail polish remover if you are the type who always paint their nails, because normal nail polish removers that do not have this label definitely has acetone in it, and acetone harms your nails.
But what is more rewarding than its basic function is that the Boots expert acetone free nail polish remover smells great!
And I mean, GREAT.
You know how the normal nail polish remover always smell strong and nasty? And smelling too much makes you groggy?
And the once that are scented (like from Faceshop) usually don't come in acetone-free variety.
This totally smelled like ICE-CREAM. *yums*
I did a smell test, and bought my hand to Kevin right after removal. I asked him to take a sniff, and he commented it smelled like candies.
=)
Even if you took a direct whiff from the bottle itself, it wouldn't be as bad as the normal nail polish removers that would hit you so bad, you would imagine yourself falling back. It was still strong but bearable.
And it works just as well too.
So the next time I head to Great Britain again, I would love to stock this up again~!
